If you are selling, renting or leasing a property of any type, commercial or domestic, then you will need an energy assessment and Energy Performance Certificate by law.
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a detailed energy survey on the property that records information relating to its construction, insulation, heating, lighting and size. This information is then used to calculate the energy efficiency and carbon emissions of the property. An EPC showing the energy rating (A to G) is then issued that lasts 10 years.
The assessment also produces a list of useful recommendations and improvements that could be made to improve overall energy efficiency and reduce fuel bills. |
