Why do you need an EPC?
EPC's are a Government mandated legal requirement for selling or renting out properties in the UK. An EPC is valid for 10 years and can give you a detailed insight into your homes' energy performance and how it can be improved.
Some key benefits to getting an EPC for your home are:
Lower Energy Bills
Increased Property Value
Expert Advice on how to upgrade your home
Contribute towards the UK's 2050 Net Zero Target
What you can expect from your Energy Assessment
Energy Assessments are a non-invasive, fast and easy way to assess the energy performance of your home. Assessments usually last between 30mins to 1 hour and will look at all the components of your house that contribute towards energy performance and efficiency. These include your central heating system, windows, building fabric and insulation, ventilation and more besides....
Once your home has been assessed, the EPC will be generated and lodged on the governments website and your home will recieve an energy rating between A and G. You will recieve bespoke advice on how to improve the energy preformance of your home and an estimate to the savings you could make by undertaking the suggested improvements/upgrades and a rough idea as to how much they would cost.
How much does it cost to get an Energy Assessment on my home?
The cost of getting an energy assessment varies depending on various factors. These include the size and age of the property - bigger homes or very old homes are more complex to conduct an energy assessment so will generally cost a little bit more. Does the property have extensions, room-in-the-roof or conservatory? Also the distance needed to travel to your home will also be taken into account - the further the more costly.
But as general idea - A typical 3 bed semi-detatched house would generally be between £60-£80* if based in Greater Manchester or Cheshire East Area.

What other services do you offer?
As a qualified Retrofit Assessor I also offer Retrofit Assessment - a 'whole dwelling' assessment for homeowners planning an energy efficiency upgrade to their home. This is an Energy performance Assessment as well as Occupancy Assessment, a Condition Survey (to flag defects and areas to target for upgrades) and Ventilation Assessment. The resulting report will be fully compliant with the government retrofit legislation (PAS2035) and will be used by retrofit professionals as the basis for the project to improve and upgrade your home.
